The Effects of Sexual Orientation

Why does the sexual orientation of an individual matter to you? It is really NO ONE'S business what another person does in their "PERSONAL LIVES"! The fact is, we cannot control who we are attracted to or fall in love with, this has been proven in numerous psychiatric and psychological studies.

Whether you are gay, straight, bisexual, transexual, or whatever it may be it really shouldn't matter to anyone. BECAUSE that is NOT who you are as a person - it does NOT mean you are smarter, dumber, faster, slower, richer, poorer, kind, or evil, it is just a small piece of a bigger whole. Which in the end, is really what matters.

Why shouldn't gays be able to marry and more importantly why would it even be considered to nullify a marriage that happened legally prior to a law changing?

Would you want your marriage nullified by someone other than you or your spouse because of whom you chose to marry?

Think about it...

True Faith

Why is it that from childhood you are told to have faith, follow your beliefs and to believe in miracles, yet when one does act on faith they are generally persecuted and treated as though they have lost their mind? The problem is and always has been faith, to a large number of people, is only superficial. Saying that you believe and acting on those beliefs are two entirely different things.

True faith is the knowing that you may pursue an endeavor without hesitation because you KNOW you will be okay in the end.

Faith is not just a belief in a deity, it is a part of YOU, it is the way you feel, behave, and live. When one acts on faith they are showing an enormous amount of courage and strength and therefore should not be ridiculed for those acts, but encouraged and supported.

Effects of the Economy

There is one thing I would like to set straight.... Not all of the people that are unemployed, unable to pay their bills and/or losing their homes & property are irresponsible or lazy! There is a recession going on and people are involuntarily and uncontrollably losing their jobs, which in turn leaves those people without the ability to pay house payments, car payments, utility bills, grocery bills, etc. THAT IS NOT THEIR FAULT!!! Yes, there are those who sit back, never work, rarely pay their bills, or do much at all to contribute to society, on the other hand, there are those who have worked very hard for a very long time to get what they have (or rather what they may be losing).
Recently, I have read numerous comments and blogs where people are just flat out insulting those who are now struggling from the effects of the economy. It is truly disappointing.
First of all, how can the United States people expect our country to recover and become a better place for all if society, as a whole, cannot or will not empathize with one another?
Second, there are people who were once very successful in Beverly Hills and Wall Street, however due to the current economic situation in the U.S. they were, like many others, laid off or fired and are now having to work at jobs they would have most likely looked down upon previously. Does that make them lazy or irresponsible? No.
Do you honestly think that a person who once made $500,000 a year and had absolutely no problem paying their bills on time could continue to do so if they were to lose that job and were unable to find employment or only able to find a minimum wage paying job? Does this make them lazy or irresponsible? Again, the answer is no.
The truth is, we are dealing with an equal opportunity recession. Anyone can and most likely will be affected in one way or another.
